THE BEST CLOTHING CHOICES FOR YOUR SKIN COLOR AND TYPE
There are many different skin types and many different colors. With light or dark skin you also have different undertones. Did you know that some colors don't look good on you at all and some do, but you never actually wear those colors? In this article you will find all the tips about your skin and the color choices.
COOL SKIN
If you have a pinkish or bluish glow in your skin, you have a cool undertone. Many different colors suit a cool skin tone. The skin tone matches winter perfectly and winter colors in clothing are therefore also the most beautiful option for this skin type. Your colors: Bright blue, emerald and deep purple look great, along with icy shades of lavender, ice blue or pink. On the warm side you can change to ruby red, bright pink red or light yellow. With neutral colors you can rock cool gray, bright white and navy blue. Colors to avoid : Try to avoid orange, tomato red and strong yellow as these can completely clash with your skin.
WARM SKIN
If you have a yellowish or peachy glow, you have a warm undertone. A warm skin tone is completely different from a cool one. When you think of a cool skin tone you think of winter and when you think of a warm skin tone you think of summer. So you should think of the opposite of icy tones. Your colors: Warmer greens and blues such as olive green, deeper turquoise, moss green and red purple (think magenta and orchid tones). Colors to avoid: Icy shades.
NEUTRAL SKIN
If you cannot detect a yellow, pink or blue glow in your skin, you have a neutral undertone. With neutral skin you can wear almost any color, but it's usually best to go for softened versions of a color instead of the bright one. Your colors: Choose colors such as old pink, jade green, maize yellow or lagoon blue. For neutral colors, choose off-white, coffee, medium gray and black. Colors to avoid: Colors like electric blue and magenta can overwhelm your neutral skin tone, so we recommend wearing those types of colors as little as possible.
FOR ALL SKIN TYPES
There are tons of colors that look good on every skin tone. These colors have a balance between warm, cool and neutral so they do not clash with your skin.
Pure white suits every skin tone, even light pink makes your skin tone more beautiful and brings out the natural glow of your face. In addition, blue/green is a beautiful color that can be worn in winter but also in summer.
